Anti-wrinkle injections (commonly known as Botox) work by blocking the signal from the nerve to the muscle, preventing the full movement that causes lines to form in the skin over time. They are most commonly used across the upper face, including the forehead, between the brows (frown lines) and around the eyes (crow's feet), but can also treat the neck, slim the jawline and stop excessive sweating. Most patients find anti-wrinkle injections very comfortable. A very fine needle is used for a series of small, quick injections and any discomfort is brief. No numbing cream is typically needed.

You will often notice the first effects within 3–5 days, with the full result visible at 2-4 weeks, when your included review appointment takes place, for any adjustments if needed.

Results last on average 3–4 months, as the muscle gradually regains its movement. Having regular treatments over time can help lines soften further.

No significant downtime; you can return to normal activities immediately. The most common effects are mild bruising or redness at the injection site, which settle quickly. Very occasionally some patients experience a temporary headache or slight drooping in a nearby muscle, both of which resolve on their own as the treatment wears off.
