this was out of a larger lot of 1860s and 1870s CDVS

and died on July 31

I suspect he was probably photographed in his coffin

he was the most active missionary in the western world for over 30 years

1/6 Ambrotype Group Of Victorian Girls & Young Women Union Case Antique 1850s storage The photograph is in overall6th plate ambrotype of five young girls, housed in a very nice Littlefield & Parsons thermoplastic case, with original label. Purchased at a Clarence, New York sale. A note with the image says that it was out of the Campbell Collection, a gift of O. A. Campbell. Ambro is on ruby or colored glass, behind mat and cover glass, and is in excellent condition. The case looks very nice in hand, though under close examination there are a couple of tiny nicks,
