There is a Roman bust in the British Museum that was widely reproduced across europe and this bust was probably commissioned by a gentleman of his wife or lover in the style of Clytie

The flag is a little grubby but we rather like this

There is some light evidence of old worm to the rear legs

and fitted in perfectly with the neoclassical style that was the dominant fashion for interior design in the 1770s

The only condition defects to note are the absence of interior strapping and part absence of the exterior tan leather strapping
