That photo was taken in 1939 when these were the height of fashion! The body of the gown is a mix of a black slipper satin with a front panel inset of silk taffeta in a bright mix of happy colors. The top has a string shoulder and a plunge front that you can wear as low as you wish. The skirt is remarkably full there is miles of
